The importance of community

“… something that most people agree is important but at risk in modern society - community. A community is much more than a collection of individuals in one place. People become a community when they cooperate in living, playing and working together. They agree on certain human values and goals, and work toward a sense of interdependence whilst maintaining their individuality.” Peter Bradley, Director, Camp Ibis, Tasmania.

My dear friend,

I totally agree whit you Rob. Ecosystem approaches since the 1950s have led to a new Paradigm: relationship and interaction that are the keys to human success. Today, we are saturated with information and resources are staggering in the West.

Our saturated brain has not learned to control this mass of information. The use of self-hypnosis, meditation and spirituality may be an effective means of managing this new situation.

I follow the reflexions of Ericksonian colleagues. I don’t forget you.

Mohammad,

Thanks for your comments.

"Because we are, I am" is a Xhosa saying.

With friendship,

Hi Rob,

Your comment ‘Because we are, I am’, does that mean because we are all one, therefor I am one?

Warmest Regards
Donna

Hi Rob,

Is the observation then to look at the community we are in and ask ourselves, are these the ideals, traits or behaviours I want to retain from the community I am in, or do I need to find another community to fit the person I want to be or need to become?

Warmest Regards
Donna

Donna, our Ericksonian learning community is just that - a community where we can learn together.

Simple as that.

Hi Rob,

I love the fact the Ericksonian learning community is simply once I can get my head around it. Other communities I have been in have been complex and hard to navigate 😊

Warmest Regards
Donna

Hi first time posting here, love this Facebook community and the values that are been strived for🙂 I totally agree with you Rob and that it is also community that can provide the wisdom that is lacking in the information overload realm  that is prevalent in society today, I am striving to use the information that is now so available and weave that into wisdom hopefully getting the best of both worlds:)
